I used to battle bugs and all sorts of stuff w/ my Gram when she and I grew roses in front of my childhood home. I remember how proud we would be to get a few bug-free, disease-free blooms out of them. Now, I have roses in front of my house. I wasn't about to put in the time and $, only to be frustrated and have to rip out diseased plants after a few years. So, I decided to try the Bayer stuff. I normally go the natural route. But I had seen how ineffective it was when I was growing up and learned my lesson when it comes to roses. We start getting bugs here in late March and our springs are wet. It's all just no big deal for my beauties. They bloom and bloom, and look fantastic. I have floribundas and hybrid types. I even won a first place ribbon last year at our local fair for one of my blooms. I'm very happy w/ this product, it's easy to use, and you don't need to spray it all over. I feel like it's safer than the "natural" sprays b/c it is COMPLETELY absorbed by the plant, rather than getting diluted and washed off. (Which of course runs into local waterways.) Works great on potted tree roses too, just use a little less than you would for the groundlings. The only caveat is that it doesn't do diddly for those nasty Japanese beetles. You need the milky spore powder for that. Overall, Bayer has great product here and I highly recommend it.
Does Stop the Blackspot. June 8, 2009 M. Flores (DFW, Texas.) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I'm a first-time rose grower, and it was a very rainy season. Immediately my rose started showing signs of black spot. I tried spraying aggressively with a natural concoction and that was NOT working, the black spot was threatening to take over. I gave up on the organic route and found this All-In-One solution. It stopped the black spot in its tracks, it really did. I had been afraid I should also spray in addition to this, but I decided to sit it out and see what happened, and sure enough, my rose is happy. I just hope I'm not killing any beneficial bugs by using this product. Admittedly I'm a bit of a nature-gal and I hate doing anything that will harm the environment in any way, so I feel a bit guilty for using this product. But the rose likes it!
Produces Gorgeous Roses April 21, 2008 Linda Donahue (Southbury, CT USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I'm totally hooked on these newer multiple use products for roses. One new product I especially like is Bayer Advanced All-in-One Rose and Flower Care. This liquid concentrate has one big thing going for it in the fact that it is a drench and not a spray. Drench products are mixed with water and applied around the roots of plants to deliver the best measured control. I'm lazy so I like the fact that Bayer All-in-One Rose and Flower Care provides three critical plant care components in one application. It covers insect control, disease control, and fertilizer. This product is like liquid "Roses for Dummies" allowing a single application to address the multiple functions necessary for great looking flowers. People think growing roses is difficult. Not me. I apply this 3 times each sping and summer on my 65 roses and they flourish!
Best stuff on the market September 14, 2007 Avalon Daughter (I wish I was in Glastonbury) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
Last fall, I purchased two New Dawn climbing roses that had a bad case of black spot. During the rest of the season, I sprayed and sprayed with an anti-fungal spray and it *seemed* to start working, but then it would come back and continued to do so until they went dormant in winter.
So I decided this spring to take a little action. When spring approached, I removed all the infected mulch around them, the leaves that had fallen and replaced it with new mulch. Then I used the Bayer as instructed - two tablespoons per gallon, pour ONLY on the base of each bush and do so every four to six weeks.
Let me tell you - they are just thriving! Each bush stands over six feet tall right now and the leaves are all dark green and glossy.
This is a great additive for your roses. It fights three problems: it's an insecticide, an anti-fungal and a fertilizer. It fights from the inside out. So this means no more spraying or combining different chemicals in order to achieve one result. It literally is three in one.
Good stuff. Highly recommended and it saved two rose bushes I thought were doomed.
