How long will it take to complete the home inspection?

While the actual length may vary depending on a number of factors, most will take between two and three hours.

What sort of things do you look at during a home inspection?

Most home inspections will take a look at the major systems of a home—including the roof, electrical systems, plumbing, HVAC, and more—to make sure that there aren’t any existing problems.

How much will the inspection cost?

This will generally depend on several factors, including the size of the house, the experience of the professional, and how comprehensive the inspection report is. However, the fee should often not be a deciding factor in choosing a company (unless, of course, the services are completely identical). You want to make sure that you get a solid home inspection—and as such, experience, skill, and detailed reports are of more importance than cost.

Am I allowed to come to the inspection?

Yes!  In fact, we encourage it, since it’ll give you the opportunity to ask questions about the home, the inspector’s process, and more.

Is my family allowed to come to the inspection?

We generally advise against it; while one person interacting with the inspector can be beneficial, too many can sometimes be distracting.

Should I take notes?

Taking notes isn’t necessary since we’ll compile everything we find into an incredibly detailed written report.

When will I get the report?

The report will be given to you within 24 hours of the inspection’s completion. This way, you can get the information you need in a timely fashion.

Will you tell me whether or not to buy the property?

No, we won’t. We want to provide you with information about the house’s condition, but ultimately the decision lies with you. There may be a lot of other factors to consider when buying a home, so you’ll want to talk with your realtor before making a final decision.

Do you offer a warranty?

No. Home inspections can be a good indicator of whether or not there are serious issues with a property, but not a guarantee, as there are some problems you may not notice until you live in the home. Because of this, we are unable to offer a warranty on our services. That said, there are other home warranty programs available, and we’d be happy to help you reach out to them.

When should I schedule my home inspection?

While we’re ready to help you as quickly as possible, it’s usually beneficial to give us at least three days’ time to prepare.

We offer same-day inspection reports!
